LBP Patch – 1.20

by malteaser on Nov.05, 2009, under Downloadable Content, Information, LBPmedia News, Media Molecule, News, Official News, Official Playstation Community, Patch

Patch 1.20 has been released for LBP today so named “Celtic Promise”, no details have been announced only that it is 23mb and is a DLC patch, no hidden features that have been sneaked in this time around, rumours of the search functionalities engine being fixed are not true, or at least haven’t been announced.
But there is some exiting news about Patch 1.21 and the Leerdammer patch from mnimmo1986 over at The Official PS Boards he had this to say in his LBP patch details thread about the patch:

“The 1.20 update to the game is indeed more content, rather anything too massive, however I can reveal that 1.21 is the fabled and oft heard of Leerdammer update.
I can’t say when it’s coming just yet, but the fact that it’s next in the queue should give you some indication.”

So it looks like the Leerdammer patch is in the front of the que and the next patch to be released on LBP. And if you don’t know what this means well the Leerdammer patch includes:

  • * Profile space has been increased by 250 times.
  • * Create levels online with your friends.
  • Net-code tweaks and fixes (No official word on these fixes fixing the lag issues with LBP)
  • Other features may be included in the future.
  • Note: The Water kit is not inside the Leerdammer patch, no info on water has been released (only Media Molecule know of it’s released date), also there hasn’t been an announcement or official word of a LBP Home space being released simultaneously on “Playstation Home”, any rumours should be taken as untrue until they are announced officially by Media Molecule. The patch has nether been announced to increase the 20/20 levels limit on-line.

(From mnimmo1998’s The Patch details Thread)

We’ll update you on this patch future patches and other info on the Leerdammer patch here on the blog.

Also a little reminder, today is the last day you can get your hands on the Pumpkin Head costume, other PSN Stores have dropped the costumes except for UK and US.

News – LBP will support the PS3 Motion Sensative “Wand”

by malteaser on Nov.01, 2009, under Information, LBP Products, News, Official News

sony-ps3-motion_1415670cAs some of you know Sony announced a new motion controller for the PlayStation 3 at E3 2009. The wand-like device will work in a not dissimilar way to Nintendo’s Wiimote. A list of games which will support the new controller was revealed at the Tokyo Games Show, one of which was LittleBigPlanet!

A demonstraion of how LittleBigPlanet might use the PlayStation Motion Controller was also shown at TGS. In the demonstraion, certain highlighted objects in the level appear to be able to be manipulated using the wand. In the demonstraion, one player controlled Sackboy with the a regular Sixaxis controller while the other used the wand to move objects to help, and sometimes hinder, the player’s progression through the level. Other features appear to include a new pink material that dissolves when touched with the wand, acting as a switch.

This appears to be only a rough, test build of the game so we would expect any such updates to the game in the very near future. Also expect the final product to be significantly different to what is shown in the video below.

LittleBigPlanet PSP Gameplay

by malteaser on Oct.30, 2009, under Information, LBP Products, LittleBigPlanet PSP, News

EB games have revealed that LBP PSP will hit the shelves on November 17th. Not a great deal on footage has been shown but hopefully this video will give you a better idea at how LBP will work on PSP.

In the video you may have caught some of the costumes and even some of the more expressive emotions of LBP PSP. Some emotions are completely new and also use body language a lot as well as facial expression. However, the game has been degraded , this wasn’t a surprise certainly the PSP cannot handle that type of gaming, and for whatever reason it can’t use lasers and certain other tools, but this is for personal play on your own out and about, and shouldn’t put you off, and also should provide hours of fun on the go. Talking of ‘Go’, it should “sew” together nicely with the new PSP Go. Pick up LBP PSP 17th November 2009, a price is not yet announced.
